JMU students facilitating a 2-week summer enrichment program for refugee children
Why:

This opportunity serves as a model for building capacity within the Early, Elementary, and Reading Department to offer extended immersion experiences with diverse learners for our teacher education students.

JMU students can get an internationalized experience at home which is more practical and affordable yet can still be a hugely impactful and transformative experience.

This program opens students’ eyes to global events and humanizes people they often overlook in their daily lives.
